Perceived Self Image

This Friday students will be attending a unique assembly on body image. The presentations are unique, as boys and girls will have a separate assemblies to recognize to address the ways that society and advertisers project that young adults have certain body type, and this creates pressures for too many to try to make this image a reality through the ways they dress, unhealthy dieting, or excessive exercise.

The presentation was created and will be presented almost entirely by our own students, and highlights our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Tolerance.

The video, below, does not connect directly to the presentations, but I found it a fascinating study of how women perceive their own looks as compared how a stranger perceives it.
