Sixth Annual GWS Day Essay Contest

Entry Invitation and Guidelines
Students from all MIAA member schools are encouraged to submit essays reflecting on the day’s theme, Girls in Sports: an Investment in the Future, by addressing the question:

How will your experiences as a female athlete serve you in your future?

• First Place:  $500 and the opportunity to read the winning essay at Girls and Women in Sport Day, February 1, 2013 at Faneuil Hall in Boston.
• Second Place:  $300
• Third Place:  $200
• Finalist essays will be published in a booklet to be distributed that day.

Contest Guidelines:  Contest is open to all students in Grades 9-12 at MIAA Member Schools.   Essays must not exceed 500 words.  Longer entries will be disqualified.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:   End of the school day on Friday, November 30, 2012
